Over the past several months, I’ve been fortunate to take part in the virtual women’s circles Jessica facilitates. It’s a beautiful and therapeutic practice to gather regularly (especially in this time of isolation) to slow down, celebrate the turning of the seasons, and connect with ourselves and each other. Jessica is wonderful at creating a meaningful space in which women can express themselves and feel supported.

Ritual is a creative way to set goals by engaging with spirituality and art in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. A Creative Ceremony is a guided community gathering or an individual experience that centers on four things:

1.       Building a safe and nurturing space to express feelings in confidentiality and trust.

2.      Honoring a specific event, season, or person with elements of interfaith or secular ritual

3.      Discovering and declaring specific goals for desired change and growth

4.     Creatively constructing symbols to help inspire and manifest change and growth

Some of the custom ceremonies Dr. Litwak has created and conducted include rituals for:

Birth

Moving

Wedding

Wedding and Baby Showers

Brisses and Christenings

New Job

New Business

Transitions

Healing and Health

Birthdays

New House

Separation

Life Change

Office Blessing

Fertility

Using aspects of various spiritual traditions (Judeo-Christian Traditions, Yoga, Buddhism, Native American Traditions, West African Traditions and Pagan Traditions) Dr. Litwak guides the group through a simple yet rich event that is specific, meaningful and fun.

From learning how to create altars and how to build community to letting go the past and calling in the future, to focusing on the creative core of the ritual, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy an immersive experience while taking away a tool box of ceremonial skills.

The specialness of a gathering which has form without expectation.  How rare and precious that is. Most ritual, or ordering, processing systems carry with them a contract with the participant to behave in a certain way. Instead, this space feels free and yet bounded. Liberating and yet safe. Comfortably paradoxical and warmly familiar in its newness and individuality. I feel excitingly alive in the specialness of being part of a particular moment with a group of people that is absolutely unique, and held by Jessica.
— Rosalind Parker, Interfaith Consultant

Custom Creative Ceremony:

Dr. Litwak will conduct an intake conversation with whomever is desiring the ritual to fully understand the purpose of the ceremony and the participants who will be attending. She will then create a ritual for the specific occasion complete with all of the elements and materials. Finally she will conduct the ceremony, leading participants through the experience.

This is accompanied by a follow up coaching session.

Additional testimonials

Rituals led by Jessica are transcendent in their ability to make you feel truly connected to yourself and others, no matter your level of “spiritual” connection. If you are open to that spiritual connection, these rituals also are a gateway to engaging with the Divine. What I learned from engaging in rituals is how to make gatherings of any size meaningful. Ritual has changed the way I interact with my friends and has changed the way I choose to engage in ceremony and moments of importance. I bring elements of ritual with me when I host a birthday party or a baby shower. I’ll try and create moments of truth and vulnerability with those I love by using things I have learned from the ritual. Songs, sharing of hopes and dreams, engaging in creative exercise, all after making sure space has been established where everyone feels safe and seen. Ritual has helped me feel confident about the woman I am and has also made me more capable of seeing others in their beautiful individual moments of joy and grief.

As women, we know: “Circles are living and breathing beings”. And a circle in motion, progressing and cutting across time and space is a Spiral; motivated by wisdom and courage - yielding love, light, and sanity. Jessica is a curator of such cyclical spirals and her season rituals are the pinnacle of her capacity to generate a safe and prosperous space for a community of women to come together and manifest. Each season Jessica thoughtfully summons her community — a collection of powerhouse women, no less — and sets forth the sacred and auspicious container, and space for the group to co-create a witnessing and Being-ness - Together. The circle and community are in a purposeful union, celebrating our divine femininity, women ancestors, elders, archetypes, poets, and even the divine feminine parts of ourselves - all of which knows no bounds. The container Jessica is able to yield is limitless, especially in its opportunity to call attention to your intentions for the season ahead. Also- invitations and group support in letting go of that which is blocking, not serving, or resisting the transformation you seek. What Jessica curates in her seasonal multicultural ritual(s), is an arts-based intention setting circle where bright minds and hearts of haven come together to hold, nurture, and cherish other women. Jessica’s genius is in how she cultivates a sacred and precious space where women foster the growth and Spirit of other women. Healing happens. Period.
